Position Summary
The Lead Estimator is responsible for reviewing and assuring accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing cost worksheets, detailed job specifications, proposals, and other documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Petro-Chem cleaning industry, excellent math skills, and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Manage a team of quote specialists
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Review cost estimates (quotes) for labor, materials, equipment, and time.
- Collaborate with sales, quote specialists, planners, SME's and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Align submitted quote with the received sales order to ensure all costs are accounted for.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Input quotes and sales orders into company CRM (Netsuite) as that information populates staffing needs and initiates invoice processes.
- Utilize company CRM to maintain historical data for reference.
- Prepare bid packages, budgets, and schedules as required.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Monitor project costs and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Update management on project budget status and risks.
- Requires travel to project locations, customer sites, or supplier meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as an estimator in industrial service industry. Industrial Cleaning a plus.
- Ability to learn the company's CRM program
- Excellent math and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Accounting experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and various office equipment (such as printers, phones, and fax machines) to complete assigned duties.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
- Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read documents, emails, and work on a computer screen.
- Sufficient hearing to engage in conversations and participate in phone calls and meetings.
- Occasionally lift and carry files or office supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional walking, standing, and bending to perform tasks, access files, or attend meetings.
- Ability to work in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and exposure to computers.

Daily responsibilities include using a computer, handling documents, and engaging in virtual or in-person meetings.
