- Draft engineering solutions for assigned components or parts, including associated drawings and 3D layouts.
- Confirm and track feasibility, costs, quality, and performance of designs.
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers to finalize designs for components or parts.
- Present designs during team evaluations and communicate with manufacturing, technical evaluators, and suppliers.
- Prepare evaluation documents, including cost checklists and technical and styling feasibility reports.
- Manage projects and suppliers effectively.
- Conduct customer and market studies of new technologies.
- Engage in self-improvement and training activities.
- Collaborate with higher-level engineers and experts to ensure components and parts meet layout, quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Travel may be required to facilities and suppliers in North America.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6.
- Experience in product design, including sheet metal design, injection molding, stamping, and general part design.
- Background in automotive product design.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
- Experience in mechanical design and solidworks.
- Conducting feasibility studies and 3D layouts.
You will work within a team of approximately 15 designers in a research and development environment. The position offers contract-to-hire capabilities in a high-tech facility with opportunities for growth, particularly in front-end development for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.
