Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager is entrusted with the responsibility of completing projects within the defined scope, budget, and schedule while comprehensively understanding all associated project risks and applicable financial measures. This key role entails managing the overall client relationship, addressing any technical, financial, or logistical issues that may arise. The individual in this position also sells and develops work with specific clients, ultimately leading to a dual role as both seller and doer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification of target market areas and develop marketing plans.
  • Communicate updates effectively to the client, management, and project team.
  • Prepare for and attend monthly project review meetings with operations.
  • Coordinate all project activities between the project owner, architects/engineers, and contractors.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of project procedures and policies, including Project Labor Agreements (PLA).
  • Collaborate with architect/engineers on the interpretation of contract documents, shop drawing submittals/approvals, and change orders.
  • Issue directives to architects, engineers, and contractors to address issues identified during field visits.
  • Monitor schedules and take actions to ensure project completion on time and within approved cost limits.
  • Make decisions on phasing and scheduling, ensuring preparation of schedules for planning, design, and construction.
  • Intervene when necessary to ensure the timely completion of project work.
  • Review contractors' claims or disputed work and advise management on appropriate actions.
  • Use independent judgment to make on-site change order decisions and negotiate with contractors.
Essential Skills
  • Project management experience, particularly in utility projects.
  • Engineering knowledge, particularly in transmission and substation projects.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Utility Project Management.
  • Experience supporting end utility in a managerial capacity.
  • Scheduling and budgeting experience.
  • Electrical engineering expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Change order management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Work Environment

The role offers a hybrid schedule, with work conducted on-site at the O&R Spring Valley location. The schedule includes working from home on Mondays and Fridays, being in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and having a floating day on Thursday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $64.90/hr.
