Mott MacDonald has an immediate need for a Water Resources Enginer in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams and review design documents for consistency and coordination
Perform relocation design of municipal and private third-party utilities on civil infrastructure projects.
Prepare and modify calculations, reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for projects.
Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables.
Compile and compute a variety of engineering data.
Work collaboratively with the design team to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
Review interface designs against existing and proposed utility infrastructure and work collaboratively with various project teams to resolve conflicts.
Work with utility coordination staff that handle the dry utility relocations on projects
Attend project meetings, and prepare agendas and meeting minutes.
Must have the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
Assist during construction for review of shop drawings, RFIs, and design clarifications
Prepare cost estimates and manage budget and schedule for utility work packages
Assist in the preparation of proposals
We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
Bachelors in Engineering-related degree
10+ years experience in environmental or civil engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation is required
Engineering design background, preferably utilities, drainage, roadway, land development, or municipal engineering. Experience working on municipal conveyance projects is preferred.
Proficiency with CAD particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.
Familiarity with engineering software such as GEOPAK Drainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS, GIS, and other engineering software is a plus.
Technical background and project experience demonstrating the potential to grow into a design role in the transportation field.
Written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present effective technical reports.
