Senior Civil Engineer

Mott MacDonald has an immediate need for a Water Resources Enginer in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

• Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams and review design documents for consistency and coordination

• Perform relocation design of municipal and private third-party utilities on civil infrastructure projects.

• Prepare and modify calculations, reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for projects.

• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables.

• Compile and compute a variety of engineering data.

• Work collaboratively with the design team to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.

• Review interface designs against existing and proposed utility infrastructure and work collaboratively with various project teams to resolve conflicts.

• Work with utility coordination staff that handle the dry utility relocations on projects

• Attend project meetings, and prepare agendas and meeting minutes.

• Must have the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.

• Assist during construction for review of shop drawings, RFIs, and design clarifications

• Prepare cost estimates and manage budget and schedule for utility work packages

• Assist in the preparation of proposals

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

• Bachelors in Engineering-related degree

• 10+ years experience in environmental or civil engineering.

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation is required

• Engineering design background, preferably utilities, drainage, roadway, land development, or municipal engineering. Experience working on municipal conveyance projects is preferred.

• Proficiency with CAD particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.

• Familiarity with engineering software such as GEOPAK Drainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS, GIS, and other engineering software is a plus.

• Technical background and project experience demonstrating the potential to grow into a design role in the transportation field.

• Written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present effective technical reports.
