Construction Laborer**
**Salem, VA**
**IMMEDIATE NEED**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated laborer to join our team for a temporary assignment of 2-3 months.The successful candidate will assist in various construction tasks, including valve replacement and concrete placement, while working closely with others in tight spaces.
**Responsibilities**
+ Remove and replace 30" valves in tight areas using chain falls and equipment rollers.
+ Remove and replace filter under drains, working closely with team members.
+ Move discharge chute off trucks to direct concrete into forms and spread concrete in inaccessible sections using a rake or shovel.
+ Clean out ditches and remove concrete forms as needed.
+ Perform manual labor tasks and assist skilled labor by following directions.
+ Assist in the erection and removal of falsework and formwork.
+ Carry and clean various materials as directed.
+ Shovel or rake materials as required.
+ Adhere to all safety policies and pass a test on safe trench operation.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with general labor and construction.
+ Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
+ Knowledge of concrete handling and placement.
+ Understanding of water and wastewater systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Construction and concrete experience preferred but not required.
+ Strong attendance and work ethic are crucial.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs individually and 50-100 lbs with assistance.
