This position is covered under the DavisBacon Act. Hourly pay and fringe benefits will follow the applicable wage determination for the project location. For this position, the prevailing wage is $54.85 per hour plus $31.49 as cash fringe for each hour worked as outlined on the prevailing wage.

What does Brice Builders LLC do?

Brice Builders, LLC specializes in performing Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) of Military and Medical Facilities, Vertical and Horizontal Construction for Telecom Facilities, Commercial and Institutional Facilities, and in support of Disaster Relief programs. We also perform assembly of modular or prefabricated commercial and institutional buildings.

What can you expect?

As the Carpenter, you will be assigned to work on a project in San Francisco, CA. You will perform tasks involving skilled construction of new buildings, renovation and sustainment of existing buildings.

How will you do it?

  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools.
  • Provide assistance to site superintendents and other supporting construction staff in the field.
  • Learn and follow safety regulations, monitoring operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
  • Accurately and efficiently layout work.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
  • Coordinate actions with other trades to ensure a smooth and timely workflow
  • Study instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
  • Knowledge and execution of proper use of hand tools and other small equipment.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Supervisory Functions:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures.
  • Possess good housekeeping skills with attention to detail on environmental hazards to reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants.
  • Strong knowledge and execution of proper use of hand tools and other small equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their uses, repair and maintenance and practical applications preferred.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to act calmly under stress and strain.
  • Ability to work on a secure military installation.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms.

Who is Brice Builders looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Carpenter or related trade required.
  • Valid driver's license record and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Builders' Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years' experience preferred.
  • Experience with commercial carpentry consisting of concrete and steel framing is preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Builders has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Work is performed outside of the office predominantly outside on field assignments. Outdoor conditions may be subject to change in weather conditions and noise levels. Adaptability regarding schedule and design changes, and occasional overtime for immediate field support or bid processing may be necessary.
