- Plan and carry out instructional duties, that maximize student learning.
- Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, and academic, and course-related concerns.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
- Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
- Furnish each student with a course syllabus listing performance objectives, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone, and e-mail access.
- Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, LSSC supervisor unless excused by the administrator in charge.
- Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
- Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on the course syllabus.
- Utilizes evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
- Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
- Resolve discipline problems within the sphere of responsibility.
- Assist and counsel students as needed.
- Utilize material and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
- Regularly examines assigned course content and recommends changes to the LSSC supervisor as needed.
- Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
- Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices
- Ability to work various hours including nights, early mornings and weekends
- Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or on off-campus, as required.
- Transfer Credit Courses: Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Developmental Education Credit Courses: Bachelor's Degree in teaching discipline or related area.
- 10 years of industry experience in construction, construction management, or the specific course area.
Educational Credentials (Foreign Degrees)
Applicants with foreign transcripts earned outside the United States must submit an evaluation from a credentialing evaluation service recognized by a U.S.-based accrediting body (such as NACES or AICE) to verify that the education/degree meets the minimum requirements for the position. Official transcripts, along with certified English translations if applicable, must be provided within 30 days of hire as a condition of employment.
