THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT), WG-3806-10, is to perform sheet metal maintenance on aircraft and components.

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position th requires membership in the California Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Compible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit th is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.

AREA I= Current California Nional Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment.
AREA II= Current California Nional Guard members.
AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army Nional Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California Nional Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compible unit of assignment within the Army CNG commensure with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment).

Qualificions
General Experience: Possess experience or training th has provided the candide with the ability to plan, manufacture, and install cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects th have easily constructed fastenings such as single and double-hem edges and single, double or grooved seams.
SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT), WG-3806-10: Must have least 18 months of experience or training in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams. Experience using more compliced shop tools and equipment. Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb merial and alloys. Experience demonstring the use of more compliced mhemical calculions and compliced measuring instruments.
