Job Summary
Job Description
We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Construction Coordinator (PG Construction Manager). This position can be located at any of our WEC Energy Group power generation or renewables locations in Wisconsin.
This position will support projects and programs that are part of WEC Energy Group’s $13.2 billion electric generation capital investment plan, which will power economic growth and provide energy reliability in the state of Wisconsin. An additional 1,800 megawatts (MW) of electric demand is expected in the state between 2025 and 2029 — an increased electric load of approximately 20%.
This position is part of a job family (PG Construction Manager, Senior Construction Manager) and experience will be determining factor.
Job Summary
This position supports the Engineer/Project Manager in interfacing with plant staff, the project’s general contractor and/or other third parties. This position provides direction, coordination, and guidance to employees and contractors engaged in construction activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs as the owner’s representative at the construction site
- Participates in a collaborative relationship with members of the team including the owner’s staff, contractors, suppliers, landowners, agencies and others
- Ensures that all construction activities are performed in accordance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, laws, leases, right-of-ways, and other agreements
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with the municipal agencies, regulatory agencies, key local individuals, landowners, and the public at large that promote the positive image of the Project and the Company
- Ensures the daily general activities of contractors and suppliers are in accordance with the terms of their respective contracts and the Project schedule
- Ensures suppliers meet technical specifications by managing receipt inspection and quality control and assurance processes
- Ensures that the work in progress is inspected in a timely manner and is substantially consistent with the issued drawings and specifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management or related field. Significant experience in construction, plant operations or maintenance will be considered in lieu of a degree
- 5 years of construction experience or related experience such as plant operations or maintenance
- Senior level requires 7 years of construction experience or related experience such as plant operations or maintenance
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in power generation projects. This includes: demonstrated knowledge of codes and construction industry procedures, familiarity with large construction equipment such as excavators and cranes; experience working with union building trades; and administration of multi-million dollar contracts
