Within CO+I, Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business meeting all safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements. We are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Manager - MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) to provide critical leadership, ownership and accountability for the team's deployment and delivery of large-scale, campus and/or regionally based delivery solutions to predictably deliver Datacenter capacity. This person will need e ffective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, proven background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements and an emphasis on project/construction management with a focus on the mechanical process.

This role is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidate will need to relocate and work 100% onsite.

  • Responsible for the mechanical process delivery for the site location.
  • Delivering the program safely, on schedule, on or under budget with a high-level of quality.
  • Ensure the mechanical portion of the project meets Microsoft guidelines and standards, which may be adjusted from time-to-time based on best practices and lessons learned drawn from previous projects as well as industry changing best practice.
  • Coordinate with the Data Center Engineering (DCE) team and support specialty consultants to update and provide feedback based on Design. In supporting the delivery of projects, this position aligns team objectives, business processes, General Contractor (GC) and vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts with the DCD project strategy.
  • Serve as an effective advocate for managing a safe site.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft Project Engineering, BAS Project Manager, GC Project Controls, the Engineer of Record, and other internal groups to maintain the safe corporate vision and performance goals for the project.
  • Coordinate activities on the Mechanical Systems portion of datacenter development.
  • Monitoring the status of a project's mechanical side to ensure it stays on schedule and on budget.
  • Ensure the project complies with all safety, labor, and zoning regulations. You will handle administrative duties such as budgeting and managing agreements with subcontractors and ensure that all mechanical process activities are executed in accordance with project drawings and specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in project/program management, engineering, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in project/construction management with a focus on the mechanical process

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years experience working on data center projects.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
