GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This is skilled and semi-skilled trades work in the maintenance, repair, service and alterations of buildings, infrastructure and equipment. Employees in this classification perform skilled tasks in General Maintenance and assist in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration trade and semi skilled work in water distribution systems, mechanical and alteration work. Other trades include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and masonry. Work assignments vary in nature and are performed under limited supervision
JOB GOAL
To keep and maintain all district facilities, equipment, systems and infrastructure in excellent operating condition so as to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, staff and the general public.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
(List is not all inclusive)
- Accept and/or implement instructions from Facilities Supervisor verbally or in writing.
- Assists when needed all HVAC, refrigeration and controls work as required, using all hand tools and power tools as necessary.
- Inspects equipment and machinery to determine proper functioning and reports issues and recommendations to supervisor.
- Uses safely all trade related diagnostic equipment to insure proper operation and calibration of equipment, tools and machinery.
- Performs General building maintenance and alteration work including constructing, installing, or repairing building structures, equipment, painting, architectural hardware, and other related trades work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPACITIES
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of trade code compliance in listed trades.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required for the trades including local and state codes.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work from sketches, plans, read and interpret blue prints and schematics and to understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
- Must demonstrate skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to the trades.
- A clear understanding of and ability to maintain on site all state mandated programs such as;
- Asbestos Management Plan (AMP)
- Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM)
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
- Blood Bourne Pathogens (BBP)
- Green Cleaning
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have an acceptable performance record.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
This position is not affiliated with any bargaining units.
This Position is non emempt.
Pay is based off relivent work experience and licenses.
