Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

Job Description

We are seeking two Environmental Health and Safety Managers to support data center projects located in Fort Wayne, IN and Red Oak, TX. The EHS Managers will oversee and implement comprehensive safety and environmental compliance programs, ensuring the safety and sustainability of all operations. This role involves conducting risk assessments, adhering to OSHA and other regulatory standards, and developing site-specific safety plans. The EHS Managers will also provide training, conduct audits and inspections, and address safety concerns promptly to maintain a zero-incident environment. Collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and site personnel is essential to foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide EHS policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the construction industry.
  • Ensure alignment of EHS initiatives with organizational objectives and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations specific to construction sites.
  • Organize, conduct, and oversee safety training programs for construction workers and staff, educating them on necessary safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed to address the evolving needs of construction environments.
  • Regularly assess construction site environments, equipment, and practices for compliance and identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including emergency response plans tailored to construction-related incidents.
  • Investigate and document any workplace accidents, near-misses, or other incidents on construction sites.
  • Collaborate with departments to implement corrective actions and reduce recurrence of safety incidents in construction operations.
  • Stay updated with relevant EHS regulations and industry standards specific to the construction industry.
  • Ensure all company operations and activities are compliant with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
  • Prepare for, and lead, audits from regulatory agencies.
  • Track, analyze, and report on EHS metrics to monitor performance.
  • Make recommendations to b management based on analysis and trends.
  • Engage with employees at all levels to promote and develop a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, vendors, and industry groups, to ensure construction projects meet all safety and environmental standards.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in an EHS role
  • Experience supporting data center/semiconductor projects
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and patterns
  • Proficient in using EHS management software and tools
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Willingness to travel to Fort Wayne, IN or Red Oak, TX as the current projects are based in these locations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, or a related field
  • Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) are a plus
Work Environment

This role is based onsite at data center projects in Fort Wayne, IN or Red Oak, TX. The position requires 45-50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with start and end times to be determined. Candidates can be local to AZ but need to be willing to travel to Fort Wayne, IN and/or Red Oak, TX. Per diem can be provided for the Hub projects, but not SPGC. Please note that there are no offices in TX or IN. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
