Job Summary: The Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Specialist is responsible for maintaining enterprise-wide data collection and editing, as well as conducting data acquisition, validation, conversion, application support/analysis, and database maintenance. Other responsibilities include coordinating GIS activities between different groups/contractors/departments and pushing projects through to completion. Responsible for obtaining and entering data related to modifications to the airfield, building facilities, and underground infrastructures into the GIS/CAD systems. Generate GIS/CAD information products such as maps, web applications, data collection forms, summary dashboards, and automated notification integrations.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains Computer-Aided Design (CAD) equipment, master files and facility record drawings. In addition, all architectural components derived from Building Information Modeling (BIM) sources for coordination into the Airport's Geographic Information System (GIS) program.
- Performs data validation, conversion and manipulation from both CAD and BIM sources.
- Prepares architectural/engineering/planning drawings for alteration or expansion projects.
- Maintains CAD master file inventory and historical facility record drawings.
- Incorporates CAD drawings from BIM to update CAD master files, to reflect current as-built conditions.
- Creates metadata for GIS and maintains utility, architectural and civil spatial datasets.
- Provides digital feature extraction from multiple data sources.
- Understands and follows complex project specific guidance. Independently uses technical resources and guidance documents.
- Performs data checks and other data quality controls, including but not limited to attribution checks and managing associated documents. Accurately regulates and maintains database attribute data.
- Performs cartographic editing to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation.
- Organizes, conceptualizes and conducts large, advanced spatial analyses as part of a team or as a technical team leader.
- Assists the team with project marketing, development and resource scheduling.
- Ensures CAD and GIS data integrity throughout the organization.
- Creates accurate maps, databases, custom Survey123 forms on short notice.
- Develops geodatabase schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals.
- Develops, integrates, and supports web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder/Experience Builder, Story Maps, Field Maps, Survey 123, within the ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal platform(s).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
- Architectural Graphics: Knowledge of architectural graphic standards.
- Building Codes: Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes.
- Data Processing: Skill in interpreting, defining, analyzing, and presenting data from various sources.
- Extensive use of ESRI ArcGIS and SQL Server database software.
- CADD Systems and Software: Skill in using various CADD systems and BIM software. (MNAA Engineering uses Bentley MicroStation)
- Microsoft Office: Skill in using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Area Calculations: Skill in performing area calculations utilizing CAD/GIS software
- Reporting: Skill in preparing and producing timely and accurate oral and written reports.
- Attention to Detail: Prepares accurate exhibits, proofreads correspondence, and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Relationship Building: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and professional working relationships with others.
- Communication: Skill in communicating effectively at all levels of the organization and with stakeholders, both orally and in writing.

- Hand Tools: Skill in using hand tools and equipment such as screwdrivers, Exacto knives, and pliers.

Required:
- High School Diploma
- 2-4 years of related professional work experience
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree: Courses in geospatial data collection, analysis and/or conversion. Computer aided design, GIS or geography.
