The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

We are seeking a skilled Site Electrician to join our team. This position is primarily hands-on, focusing on the buildout of jobsite power distribution systems. The role will involve installation, connection, and troubleshooting of temporary and permanent electrical power infrastructure to support construction activities. While most work is technical and field-based, the position will also include inspection and verification of installations to ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, connect, and maintain jobsite power distribution systems, including panels, transformers, temporary power setups, and branch circuits
  • Run conduit, pull wire, and terminate electrical connections according to plans and code requirements
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, site plans, and load schedules
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical distribution systems
  • Ensure grounding, bonding, and protective measures are properly implemented
  • Conduct inspections to verify safe and compliant installation of temporary and permanent electrical systems
  • Maintain organized work areas, ensuring safe routing and secure installation of cables and equipment
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and inspection results to supervisors and project managers
  • Adhere to all company, site, and regulatory safety standards and procedures

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of electrical installation experience in construction or industrial environments (power distribution focus preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, panels, feeders, and overcurrent protection
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and construction documents
  • Experience with conduit installation, cable pulling, and terminations
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (multimeter, megger, clamp meter, etc.)
  • Valid electrician license or journeyman certification (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic jobsite environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality work
