PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preventative maintenance painting encompassing the application of coatings to various materials, sandblasting and powder blasting operations, preparing surfaces for solvent or water-based coating.

Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces including aluminum, ferrous metal, shop-coated metal, uncoated metal, finished hardware accessories, test plates, and other specified surfaces.

Ensure adherence to mil-spec requirements when applying final coating.

Perform repairs and touch-ups on damaged or non-conforming coatings.

Perform field blast cleaning procedures as specified.

Adhere to 5S standards while establishing lean processes to enhance operational effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to pass a pulmonary functions test.

Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

Capability to troubleshoot issues related to painting processes, equipment malfunctions, or material defects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, typically up to ten (10) hours per day

Endurance to withstand exposure to fumes, dust, and other environmental factors commonly associated with a manufacturing plant.

Aptitude for working in various physical positions, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Sufficient visual acuity to read labels, safety instructions, and equipment gauges, as well as to inspect surfaces for defects or imperfections.
