An Area Planner and Scheduler is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Thacker Pass, NV area. This role requires a planner/scheduler with 5-12 years of experience and strong communication and analytical skills to develop, monitor, and maintain complex construction schedules for a large project, while coordinating with all teams and recommending solutions to project challenges.

responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, monitor, and create recovery plans for construction schedules, focusing on the Downstream area.

  • Perform and coordinate scheduling for large projects, including 90-day and 3-week lookahead schedules, and conduct progress variance assessments.

  • Integrate work scope from all entities, including subcontractors, into the project master schedule and coordinate with all departments to meet schedule needs.

  • Identify and analyze scheduling issues, monitor the critical path, perform productivity analysis, and recommend solutions for schedule improvement.

  • Issue management reports, track schedule performance, and report on construction activities and their progress.

  • Participate in schedule resource loading and leveling.
Skills:

  • Skilled in both oral and written communication, with direct experience interfacing with project teams, owners, and contractors.

  • Expertise in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.

  • Proficiency with project controls scheduling systems (e.g., P6, MS Office) and other standard applications.

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, with a focus on construction interfaces.

  • An analytical approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience with training technical and non-technical personnel on scheduling requirements.
Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or

  • 9-12 years of relevant work experience is required.
