Job Title: Painter / Finisher
Job Description:
A person in the position is responsible for prep,painting, staining, and finishing escape room props and sets in the production shop. Typical items include: escape room sets/props, cabinets, furniture, and metalwork - and may include additional in the future. This team member works closely with colleagues in CNC, Carpentry/Metal Fabrication, and Assembly. Additionally, this team member will coordinate closely with the Production Manager to ensure appropriate levels of supplies are maintained, inventoried, procured, and stored. As with all roles at our company, we expect our team members to be willing to bring flexibility and a positive attitude to their day-to-day work. If we need help packing a truck, we pack the truck. If the floors need sweeping, etc.
Must be a “Self Starter” who is able to operate independently once trained.
The first 30 days will be spent working day shift from 7:00AM-3:30PM for training purposes.
Direct Manager: Paint Lead
Compensation: $22+/hr; 2nd shift starting range (based on experience)
Hours & Schedule:
3:00PM - 11:30PM Standard shift
Expected Weekly Hours: 40-45
Travel Expectations: None
Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday (possible exceptions: new store launch, new game installation, emergency maintenance or other emergencies related to your job)
On-call: No
Job Responsibilities:
Surface preparation - bondo/putty holes and seams, sanding
Operate spray booth and sprayers
Ability to apply a fine, durable finish
Spray different finishes including lacquer, stain, shellac, and water-based poly and polyurethane
Application of custom scenic treatments to make items aesthetically relevant to their intended environment
Diligently tracks information in production management systems; executes systems and processes
Quality checks all items before transferring to next stage of production
Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized work area
Comply with all safety rules and regulations
Job Requirements:

Familiarity with production paint and finishing techniques
Maintain safe, orderly and clean working environment
Knowledge of safe shop tool operation (pumps, sprayers, storage of materials, disposal) Performs basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
Takes initiative and is able to work independently
Tracks time diligently using production management software systems and additional processes/forms.
Experience in theater and live entertainment, scenic art and fabrication, general construction knowledge a plus Shows up on or before scheduled start and is enthusiastic, ready to work
High integrity; can be trusted with confidential & valuable company information
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
