The Power & Water Solutions business focuses on upgrading existing power plant systems with industry leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid.
This role requires extensive travel up to 75%, to include overnights (often 1-3 weeks at a time during spring and fall outage season), and some weekends. This position offers a Hybrid Work Option when not traveling. We provide on the job training, building on your solid blend of education and experience is a validated path to success.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Work with your team to analyze and tackle engineering problems associated with field installation and operation of life sustaining, industrial control systems.
- Assist in carrying out more sophisticated engineering assignments under the direction of a more senior field engineer.
- Provide hands-on training to our customers on-site or in a factory acceptance test (FAT).
- Develop and maintain good customer relations from the small rural power producers to billion-dollar critical infrastructure suppliers in metropolitan areas.
- Participate in the writing, review, and revision of field/operational manuals based on your hands-on work with these systems
- Participate in team assignments sought at problem resolution, project/product familiarization and product testing and evaluation

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Comprehensive troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to meet business needs. This includes some weekends and overnight stays of 1-3 weeks at a time. The travel requirement will be mostly seasonal, more during the spring and fall outage season.
- Ability to adhere to Emersons vehicle policy and possess a valid US drivers license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $76,000.00-90,000.00 annually, plus benefits, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
