General Contractor looking for Skilled Carpenter

We are a high-end building contractor looking to expand our workforce. While we mainly focus on residential remodels, we perform some commercial work and new construction. We work anywhere in Santa Barbara County, but mostly in Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley. We are looking to hire a carpenter / builder. We offer a retirement plan with matching contributions as well as paid vacation and sick days. Unfortunately we are unable to offer health insurance at this time.

General requirements for all grades.

- Driver's license, citizenship or work permit / visa.

- Your own truck or van, tools commensurate with skill level. You must be able to commute to jobsites from Carpinteria to Los Alamos, but mostly in Santa Barbara or Santa Ynez.

- Punctuality. Workdays are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

- Good Attitude.

- Honesty. During the application process, there will be a background check. Prior offenses are not an immediate disqualification, so long as they are in the past and declared up front.

- Hygiene. We work in clients homes, and expect our crew to be clean and orderly, both in their work and their appearance. Intoxication on the job is not acceptable and will result in immediate termination.

- Communication. Can speak and understand English fluently and communicate concerns, comments, and questions to supervisors in a respectful manner.

- Physically able to carry 60 lbs.

Currently searching for:
Level 2: Tradesman - $35-45 per hour

Desired Skills: Framing, finish carpentry, drywall tape and texture, concrete finishing, tile setting, light plumbing and electrical work. Able to be lined out on a jobsite daily / weekly and perform tasks in a workmanlike manner. Ability to direct apprentice laborers as needed.

Experience: 3-5 years in the trades, framing and finish carpentry a must. Experience in additional trades is a plus.

Requirements: Truck or van with racks. Reasonable complement of tools including drill and driver, skilsaw, Sawzall, bags, hand tools, etc.
