DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Architectural Supervisor, you will be providing supervisory leadership and mentorship to architectural and support staff, fostering professional development and ongoing education. You will be responsible for strategically leading architectural initiatives, establishing best practices, and ensuring consistent application of policies and standards across projects. Work involves overseeing comprehensive project management for complex construction and space planning projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals with agency needs and Commonwealth-wide real estate strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing construction administration and contract oversight to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • This position also requires additional travel to headquarters location and other locations throughout the commonwealth as needed to perform essential job functions or as deemed necessary by the Director or Assistant Director.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an Architectural Designer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional architectural experience in building renovation or new construction for commercial, institutional, or educational buildings, and four years of paraprofessional or technical experience in architecture, architectural engineering, or architectural design; or
  • Four years of professional architectural experience in building renovation or new construction for commercial, institutional, or educational buildings, and a bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional architectural experience in building renovation or new construction for commercial, institutional, or educational buildings.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires licensure as a registered architect by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or a reciprocal jurisdiction

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid PA Class C driver's license.
