Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review and validate design intent and incorporate feedback into final deliverables. advanced drafting techniques including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and configuration management practices. Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), part lists, and exploded views for assemblies and subassemblies. Conduct drawing reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and contractual requirements. Support engineering change processes (ECPs, ECOs) and ensure revision control through PLM/document management systems. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior drafters, promoting adherence to best practices and encouraging professional development. Interface with manufacturing or construction teams to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related issues throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting workflows, tool adoption, and documentation standards. Basic Qualifications TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or a related technical field. 8+ years of relevant experience in drafting and design using CAD, CAM, or CATIA, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree. Proficiency in 3D modeling and computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX). Demonstrated experience creating and modifying detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings across one or more disciplines: mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronics. Strong knowledge of dimensioning standards, design specifications, and engineering drawing practices. Ability to execute layout drawings provided by engineers and convert design intent into complete, accurate documentation. Familiarity with document management systems and maintaining revision control of engineering drawings. Capable of performing design modifications based on feedback or engineering change requests (ECOs/ECPs). Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and design for manufacturability (DFM) or constructability. Effective communication skills with internal teams and project stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience conducting or participating in design reviews with engineering teams and project stakeholders. Familiarity with electrical systems or mechanical design principles in a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Experience in product design or developing components for regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive, medical). Working knowledge of project management principles with the ability to manage design timelines and coordinate deliverables. Broad understanding of related specialty areas (e.g., systems engineering, manufacturing processes, structural analysis). Experience coaching or mentoring junior drafters and contributing to drafting process improvements or tool adoption. Proficiency in PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter) and collaboration tools used in engineering environments.
