Manufacturing Supervisor

Shift: 3:30pm - 11:30pm - Monday - Friday

Summary:

The primary function of this position is to supervise and coordinate the workflow within the Packaging and Manufacturing departments. Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversee the work in progress. Provide training to employees and ensure proper quality control and productivity levels are maintained in the department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that orders are processed throughout the department accurately.
  2. Ability to ensure a high level of productivity and product quality is maintained. It is critical to be able to lead and direct personnel on a day-to-day basis.
  3. Responsible for training of all employees. Set up and oversee all training procedures to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  4. Supervisors are responsible for the accuracy of every order leaving Manufacturing.
  5. Ensure that quality control (QC), NSF, and cGMP procedures are followed when product is produced. Follow all QC policies that are currently in place, attend QC training yearly and implement new policies.
  6. Perform employee evaluations and corrective action notices as needed. Perform both in a fair and timely manner.
  7. Assist in scheduling and completion of workflow for the department on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Work with reports and programs designed to direct workflow of the department. Work with other departments including Purchasing, Receiving, and Shipping to control backorders.
  8. Must learn to setup, operate, and troubleshoot all equipment. It is essential the supervisor is able to think critically, troubleshoot equipment and setup issues, and work with Maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.
  9. Participate as an active member of the Sanitation Team.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  11. Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree preferred and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in management or leadership capacity. Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.

The physical requirements of this position.

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
