Plant Electrician
Location: Apple Creek, OH
Reports to: Maintenance & Technical Manager

Position Summary
The Plant Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment supporting manufacturing operations for plastic extrusion and paper/plastic tubing production. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations across all shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, controls, and equipment including extruders, winders, and associated machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant electrical projects.
• Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and plant safety standards.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Document work performed, update electrical drawings, and maintain accurate records.
• Support continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and reliability initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship or technical school preferred.
• State electrician license or certification (where applicable).
• 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical work, preferably in plastics or paper converting environments.
• Strong knowledge of motors, drives, PLCs (Allen-Bradley a plus), and industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
