Overview
The Public Works Foreman will oversee the sweeping section of the Public Works Stormwater Department. This position will oversee operators and ensure they are sweeping correct zones around the city. This position will supervise a team that will sweep every street on the map and ensure the city's streets are swept correctly. The foreman will supervise special projects and after hours, such as special events.
Responsibilities
- Oversee contractors to ensure they are not missing streets and daily reports
- Verify contract requirements are being met by the contract agreement
- Ensure operators are sweeping correct zones around the city, making sure operators are sweeping every street on the map, and ensuring all city streets are swept correctly
- Confirm field staff obey all traffic laws while operating fleet vehicles, perform daily pre/post trip inspections and follow all city policies
- Enter daily reports from contractors, and in-house operators
- Keep up with daily maintenance of equipment, changing brushes, daily clean outs, weekly preventative maintenance, milage, Maximo work orders
- Create work schedules for contractors and in-house operators on special projects, making sure all work stays on schedule and on time
- Schedule special projects that come up for contractors and in-house operators
- Deal with customer complaints that come from the call center and address the issues in a timely manner
- Ensure proper communication with internal and external customers, maintaining professionalism under any conditions
- Investigate complaints from call center and address accordingly with resolution
- Perform other related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Non-Exempt - Full-Time
- Rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
- Must be available to work additional hours as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Six (6) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring
- Class A CDL (Specifically for Street Sweeping Foreman duties)

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
