Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

A well-established manufacturer of industrial equipment is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. This role involves designing and integrating control systems for custom-built machinery used in advanced manufacturing environments. Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, and integrate Windows-based control systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, ideally using C#.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, sales, and manufacturing to define control system requirements.
  • Apply industrial standards and codes (e.g., UL508, NFPA, NEC, CSA) in system design.
  • Specify electrical components and circuitry.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and layout plans.
  • Maintain accurate bill of materials and documentation.
  • Provide support during equipment commissioning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Associate degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering Technology with 1+ years of relevant experience also considered.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and control system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or EPLAN.
  • Experience with HMI and PC configuration.
  • Familiarity with PID control, variable frequency drives, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Skilled in debugging hardware/software and using Microsoft Office.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in control system design for industrial equipment.
  • Experience with PLC programming, C# preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging hardware and software.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $41.00/hr.
