Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting metal bars, rods, rounds, and structural shapes to specified lengths using a variety of saws and machines. This role involves precise measurements, machine programming, and routine maintenance.
**Responsibilities**
+ Cut metal bars, rods, rounds, structural shapes, etc., to specified lengths using overhead circular milling saw, band saw, or friction saws.
+ Perform necessary measurements for project preparation using a cutting list.
+ Program machines to perform cuts and fabrication. Engage power feed or turn hand wheels to feed work into cutters.
+ Stop machines and verify dimensions of work.
+ Perform routine machine maintenance.
+ Read drawings and operate CNC controlled shear to length and punching machine.
+ Make required set-ups and select proper punches and dies.
+ Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and working areas in clean, neat, and orderly condition.
+ Follow safety rules.
**Essential Skills**
+ Saw operation and machine operator experience preferred.
+ Strong measuring skills.
+ Blueprint reading and experience with machine operation.
+ Proficiency in using tape measures, hand tools, and bandsaws.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
+ Basic knowledge of shop fabrication equipment.
+ Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
+ Familiarity with structural steel fabrication.
+ Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Work Environment**
Work on the 2nd shift: Monday Thursday from 4:30 pm to 2 am, Friday from 2 pm to 10 pm. Optional Saturdays offer overtime opportunities. Training on 1st shift is available. The shop is open-air, covered by sheet metal, and can be loud and dirty at times. Safety boots are required, and occasional use of ladders and lifts is necessary. The position involves walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping, with occasional lifting of items under 50lbs. Hours outside of scheduled shifts may be necessary as workload dictates, including weekends.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
