We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2D CAD Designer to join our sign fabrication team. This role involves creating precise layout drawings for both illuminated and non-illuminated signs, supporting fabrication and installation processes, and working hands-on with vinyl and large-format materials. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using plotters and sign layout software, and collaborating across departments to deliver high-quality signage solutions. Responsibilities Develop accurate 2D CAD drawings for sign layouts including channel letters, cabinet signs, monument signs, and wayfinding systems. Design layouts for electrical components in illuminated signs, including LED modules, transformers, and wiring paths. Interpret architectural plans, site surveys, and client specifications to produce fabrication-ready drawings. Operate plotters to produce vinyl graphics and large-format prints for sign applications. Handle and apply vinyl materials to substrates, ensuring precision and quality. Work with large-format paper and digital files to support production and installation teams. Ensure all designs meet ADA, UL, and local zoning requirements. Collaborate with sales, project management, and production teams to refine concepts and resolve design challenges. Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for each project. Revise drawings based on feedback from clients, engineers, and fabricators. Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software. Experience in sign design, architectural drafting, or graphic production. Familiarity with materials used in sign fabrication (e.g., aluminum, acrylic, vinyl). Experience operating plotters and handling vinyl and large-format materials. Understanding of electrical components in illuminated signs. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Flexi Design or other sign layout software. Knowledge of sign industry standards and fabrication processes. Experience with permitting and code compliance documentation. Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Why Work Here?
