ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking a Carpenter Maintenance to support ongoing activities under the Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS) contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Carpenter Maintenance performs general inspection, repair, and general maintenance of building exterior and interior to preserve integrity of water seal, and energy conservation. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities including but not limited to:

  • Ensures that all structural work complies with Kirtland AFB Design Guide Standards and federal, state, and local building codes.
  • Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and performs repairs as needed. Performs tasks to fulfill service requirements and account for time and material in accordance with contractual requirements for emergency, routine, and preventative work tasks.
  • Completes necessary documentation in accordance with the company’s processes and the customer’s service requirements.
  • Communicates with central dispatch, Carpenter Lead, and shop supervisor on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues daily following the service process(es).
  • Participates in an after-hours on-demand service program.

Responsibilities:

  • Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.
  • Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
  • Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
  • Select lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style.
  • Calculate the number of fasteners required for each job.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
  • Read blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendation.
  • Set up scaffolding to provide safe access to repair structural members/paint exterior.
  • Paint, patch and seal exterior and interior surfaces.
  • Patch, repair and apply stucco.
  • Stripe road surfaces.
  • Perform striping and painting of required symbols for parking lots.
  • Take paint samples to ensure color matches.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education level of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six (6) Months of carpentry/painting in commercial or manufacturing spaces.
  • Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Competency in basic mathematic skills including fractions, addition, subtraction, division.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Technical College or formal Trade Program training.
  • One (1) year of carpentry/painting in commercial or manufacturing spaces.
  • Experience working in Department of Defense or other government environment.

Physical Demands:

Be capable of performing work in a field environment requiring full range of motion and movement; be able to perform physical activities including climbing and working at heights greater than 50 feet, crawling, working outdoors, and repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
