Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Chief, District 4 Construction, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent has responsible charge for construction claims as it relates to construction project schedules. This position requires travel to the field offices that cover all nine bay area counties. This is an exciting new opportunity to be on the cutting edge of contract administration and is consistent with the Caltrans Mission statement that states "To construct high-quality, cost-effective, and timely transportation solutions for Californians while maximizing safety, minimizing adverse impacts, and ensuring the public trust."

Working Conditions

Position Located at 295 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94103.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position(s) requires(s) a valid Professional Engineer License issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers for appointment.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

Please provide a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) - 12 font size, maximum of two pages addressing the following:

1.Demonstrate your knowledge and experience working as a Schedule Reviewer including using a computer software such as Oracle Primavera P6 for analyzing contractor's schedules and delay claims (baseline, updates, and time impact analysis (TIA)

2.Demonstrate your knowledge and experience balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

3. Demonstrate your knowledge and experience to interpret project contract documents and applying them to contract administration processes and schedules.

4.Demonstrate your knowledge and experience in constructability, activity sequences, and production rates on construction projects
