POSITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Machine Builder I is to build, assemble and modify custom fixtures and machine assemblies.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Perform mechanical assembly of custom fixtures for manufacturing.
- Setup and test fixtures for product fit and machine interface fit, when applicable.
- Install sensors and/or pneumatic components on assemblies.
- Assist Machine Builders with mechanical assembly of custom machines.
- Support engineering staff in development and product fit of new fixtures.
- Communicate continuous improvement ideas for current and new fixtures.
- Organize and coordinate components to kit (or group) items for build projects.
- Run pneumatic plumbing.
- Perform modifications and field fit fabrications.
- Learn to field wire devices on fixtures and machines.
- Learn to read and understand mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and assembly prints.
- Document bill of materials and build issues.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- 1-3 years of experience troubleshooting electromechanical issues and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to learn and understand SolidWorks, and various software programs.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
Meet the Following Physical Demands:
- High level of hand dexterity/coordination.
- Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
- Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body around equipment of varying heights.
WHAT WILL HELP
- 1-3 years of machining, welding, electrical controls, and fabrication experience.
- Some apprenticeship training and/or technical college education.
