Carpenter, residential custom homes, Red Seal, BC

Hart Tipton Construction, one of BCs top modern home builders, is seeking a full-time Carpenter to join our elite team of roughly 50 employees. Known for crafting architecturally significant, ultra custom homes, we are looking for an experienced professional Carpenter versed in BC building code, to join a team of highly skilled craftsmen to build new homes from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform carpentry work (forming, framing, finishing) related to new home construction, maintenance and warranty items
Communicate clearly with clients, site supervisors, and subcontractors

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in full-scope custom residential construction start to finish, all aspects of new home construction
Strong carpentry skills and a problem-solving mindset
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Forming, framing, finishing experience
Knowledge of BC Building code.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub-flooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
May supervise apprentices and other construction workers, depending on experience

Employment requirements:
oRed Seal Certificate (or ability to obtain)
oSecondary (high) school graduation certificate
oWork well independently and communicate well with site manager, possess conscientious disposition and are sensitive to a high level of care
oSteel-toed safety boots and hard hat
oOrganized, detailed oriented, and a team player. You should enjoy working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

40 hours per week
Must live in greater Vancouver
Must have a valid drivers license & vehicle to work in West Vancouver or Vancouver
