Electrical Superintendent Conventional Power
Location: Project location TBD (requires mobilization to site)
Initial Phase: 6 months of project planning based in Kansas City, KS
Per Diem: $132.12/day (non-taxed) while in Kansas City; $173/day (taxed) at project site
Preferred Experience: Union or union management; electrical superintendent experience in conventional power projects
Key Responsibilities:
+ Partner with the Construction Manager to ensure compliance with safety, quality, ethics, lessons learned, and performance standards across site operations.
+ Monitor construction activities for compliance with CPM schedules, tracking milestones and commodity installations.
+ Collaborate with craft teams, subcontractors, and other superintendents to resolve drawing, schedule, quality, and cost issues.
+ Lead productivity tracking, cost reporting, and progress analysis, taking corrective action to meet targets.
+ Develop and maintain 3-Week Look Ahead schedules, ensuring required resources are available.
+ Manage subcontractor performance, compliance, and relationships; coordinate extra work requests and contractor information responses.
+ Oversee work package execution, major equipment installations, job hazard analyses, and punch list completion.
+ Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports.
Required Skills & Experience:
+ Minimum 10 years in industrial construction, including large-scale electrical systems.
+ Proficiency in budgets, scheduling, work package planning, and crew management (50+ union craft).
+ Experience with large electrical equipment installations (PDC, GSU, UAT, ISO Phase), cable management, and terminations.
+ Strong knowledge of union agreements, labor relations, EPC/subcontract contracts, and construction standards.
+ OSHA 10 certification (minimum); OSHA 40 preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffolding, and perform physical labor for extended shifts.
+ Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions, variable lighting, and around hazardous equipment.
Education:
+ Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
+ Training in contract administration, cost control, industrial relations, safety, and quality management desirable.
+ Minimum 3 years as a Superintendent on similar projects in a supervisory role.
