Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with industry standards. This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Duties
Interpret technical specifications in order to plan a project
Prepare and monitor project cost estimates
Report timely and accurate project status to engineering management
Follow company SOP's for contract management. Including but not limited to:
Hiring of subcontractors
Quote submission standards
Preparing estimates for customer quotes and change orders.
Executing change orders to contracts
Project layout, engineering and detailed design of various machinery products, assessment and monitoring of projects, and assisting production with technical issues.
Develop wood-products equipment designs to customer specifications in compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes.
Must be able to create detailed and accurate bills of materials.
Transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents.
Must be able to perform these skills on AutoCAD mechanical design software. 3D Inventor a plus
Responsible for quality of assigned tasks.
Work with the production team during the manufacturing process.
Create project schedules and liaise between departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
Coordinate activity phases from design, procurement, fabrication, and construction.
Build relationships with vendors and customers.
Designs, calculations, models, drawings, BOMs, spare parts lists, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience
Mechanical design and manufacturing experience required. Preferably for wood products including; sawmill, planermill, plywood, and other wood-products industries.
Associate degree with a focus on mechanical design principles, with additional minimum of five-years' experience designing for the wood-products industry.
Experience with material properties of steel for design selection.
Technical writing and verbal skills.
People skills: The ability to interact with vendors, customers, manufacturing team and other designers.
Must be extremely detail oriented with strong communication skills.
This position must be able to work closely with sales, engineering, and fabrication.
Applicant must be able to produce, analyze, interpret, and review blueprints and other technical drawings.
Must be able to troubleshoot problems with customers and manufacturing team to provide corrective actions.
Familiar with manufacturing processes: Welding, cutting, forming, milling, turning, etc.
Able to effectively resolve conflicting priorities to achieve optimal results.
Proficient use of MS Office, (primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Self-Motivated, disciplined, passionate, and organized.

Pay: $85,030.00 - $90,165.00 per year
