To procure, store and issue supplies in a supply operation, process and maintain inventory and inventory records, modify and implement inventory control, schedule deliveries, purchase supplies, materials and equipment for departments as needed, ensure packages are received, sorted, and delivered to appropriate mail stops, coordinate move of music equipment for campus, monitor the pickup and delivery of retention files, perform related work.
Level Scope:Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of campus resources in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:Supervision:

- Evaluates performance; assigns work and establishes priorities
- Develops policies and procedures; monitors work to ensure accuracy and completeness, and for conformance to internal policies and procedures and purchasing rules and regulations.
- Resolves personnel problems; monitors and maintains section budget; authorizes expenditures.
Program administration.
- Typical responsibilities: directs and controls shipping and receiving, purchasing, and inventory control;
- Determines specific product or equipment requirements by discussing with the user;
- Resolves supply, inventory, and vendor problems; prepares specifications;
- Establishes inventory levels; may determine pricing structure for resale in stores.
- Develops and implements automated inventory record-keeping methods and procedures;
- Ensures proper storage and safety procedures are followed in the warehouse and supply yard;
- Supervises the handling, storing, and transporting of hazardous and caustic materials; maintains storage records;
- Files freight claims and negotiates with freight companies for claim settlement;
- Determines if items should be used, sold, or declared surplus; may plan, organize, and direct public auctions; may supervise motor pool, storage, and moving operations;
- May maintain capital and chattel property records and ensure proper disposal.
Schedules staff and evaluates performance with quarterly reviews; establishes work priorities, organizes work schedules, and determines duty assignment; determines delivery urgencies, plans for equipment moves and safety in work areas; monitors work habits of staff to insure work quality and productivity; implements quality assurance programs; trains staff on proper care and use of material handling equipment record keeping procedures (TMA).
Schedules and coordinates building mailstop locations, communicates with vendors, suppliers and internal trades, keeps information on departmental website up-to-date, schedules and keeps record of equipment lubrication and maintenance; orders supplies for custodial; replenishes stocks to ensure needed inventory is on site; fills requisitions for parts/equipment/chemicals and supplies; Desk coverage, backup driver for deliveries and warehouse duties when staff coverage is inadequate; maintains records and reports; assists in development of policies and procedures; contracts vendors for new products and evaluates usefulness, coordinates demonstrations as needed.
Manages Gage Warehouse.
May perform other duties as needed.

Partner and collaborate with outside vendors.
Problem solves and makes inventory and business decisions, often with urgent deadlines.
Knowledge of the operations of inventory levels and designing and implementing storage procedures.

Some knowledge of: supervisory practices; handling, storing, and transporting hazardous and caustic materials.
Ability to read, monitor, and review information from materials, communicate with customers by phone, email, and in person.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish scheduled and unscheduled tasks/work as assigned or in necessity.
Good knowledge of: automated inventory control methods and procedures.
Experience: preparing specifications for bid; maintaining inventory levels; interpreting and applying purchasing laws and a department's policies and procedures; calculating and determining inventory levels; designing and implementing storage procedures; operating a personal computer.
A valid driver's license
Considerable knowledge of: shipping and receiving, P-Card purchases and accountability, inventory control methods and reports, warehouse storing, issuing materials and supplies, applying purchasing procedures, and entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Providing detailed review of purchasing invoices, purchase orders, receipts, and ensuring conformance with bid, RFI, RFP policies and procedures, and knowledge of and following Boise State Purchasing procedures.
Handling, storage, and transportation of time-sensitive and bio-hazard materials. Material handling systems, equipment, and transporting delicate and complex equipment in a variety of methods.
Good knowledge of: supervisory practices; construction trades and terminology, custodial industry language, products and equipment, safety training modules of hazardous materials, heavy and light equipment operation, and various delivery vehicles.
Experience: Material management and inventory accountability. Maintaining monthly inventory records, warehouse layout and workflow, and design of proper floor and shelf location for supplies. Unloading freight, verifying quantity and quality of order, shelf stocking, delivery of supplies, lab equipment, electronic equipment, and furniture deliveries, and supervision of at least 3 or more staff. State surplus guidelines and processes. Use of small hand tools; operating and maintaining industrial-type cleaning equipment; preparing records and reports.
Physical ability to: lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs, and may involve inclement weather working conditions. Willingness to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
