Position Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible to work with a cross-functional team of both internal and external resources to meet project technical, schedule and financial objectives.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Use of Solidworks & AutoCAD to design of custom machinery
Creation of Layout and detail drawings
-Creation of Bill Of Materials
Maintaining database of parts
Preparing machine and tooling drawings for final documentation submission to customers
Overseeing build and assembly of production machines
Interfacing with customers to address their needs and presentation of machine solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced understanding of AutoCAD and Solid Works development techniques from college course work, and on-the-job experience
Ability and willingness to learn about new products and components quickly and effectively in order to meet deadlines and budget restrictions
Special Position Requirements
Highly organized
Requires excellent problem-solving skills , with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of himself/herself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a whole

-Adobe
-SAP
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline (3+ years of experience working specifically with custom machinery, may be considered in lieu of degree)
3+ years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in custom machines and/or capital equipment
Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook (required), Excel (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred), Word (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred), PowerPoint (Basic level required, Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
3+ years of experience doing designs with AutoCAD, Solid Works or other design software
3+ years of experience utilizing Solid Works 3D software
