JOB SUMMARY

As an Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer, you will operate computer-aided design (CAD) system to create component drawings, system drawings, 3D models of components and systems, resize or modify designs. Assist with new projects and redesigns of existing projects, create customer specific mixer designs from sketches, marked up prints, verbal or written instructions and/or customer requirements. Provides support for sales orders, quotations, and ensures design accuracy. The position will also review mechanical parameters and select solutions based on specifications. Works closely with Sales and Operations teams.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer, you will provide support to Application Engineering and Order Execution teams to provide quote and order drawings, BOMs, and perform calculations to verify performance of solutions.
The person filling this role should have a technical background and can quickly learn the required skills related to rotating equipment (Mixer) assembly, detailed drafting, and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure component and assembly drawing BOMs are processed and routed effectively to support to critical projects for turnarounds, shut-downs, and overall aftermarket mixer upgrades. Frequent collaboration with Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineers, Operations (Supply Chain, Assembly, etc.), and Service is expected.
The Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer will:
- Help to determine the most efficient method of manufacturing components/assemblies to ensure on-time delivery during customer breakdown situations.
- Collaborate with Aftermarket Order Execution team/Project Managers to ensure drawings, parts lists, and routings/MOMs are completed to deliver on time as applicable for Aftermarket orders
- Collaborates with Applications Engineering team to ensure quoted Retrofits/Upgrades are able to be manufactured and details are effectively translated in customer GA Drawings
- Generate quote drawings, quote lead times and engineering hours
- Generation of layout and general arrangement drawings
- Create bills of material (BOM)
- Create customer specific designs/drawings
- Create/Update Instruction and Operation Manuals (IOMs) and other documentation as needed.
- Work with Sales, project engineering and project Management to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Assist Operations and approve drawing variances on shop floor.
- Validate designs using internal calculation programs
- Create 2D/3D models and assemblies
- Other Duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements are an Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering discipline as applicable.
2D CAD skills required; AutoCAD and Inventor as well as 3D preferred
Experience in an ERP system preferred; SAP preferred
Proficient in Microsoft office products
Ability to write and communicate clearly; Technical writing experience preferred

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise level while on the production floor.

As demand allows the option to work remote from home is available on a hybrid schedule basis (e.g. 3 days at facility, 2 days at home).
Candidates can be located in Rochester, NY, Palmyra, PA, or fully remote.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $80,700/yr. to $113,040/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
