We are looking for an experienced structural engineer that is interested in developing their skills designing and detailing bridges and other infrastructure projects throughout multiple states in the Midwest. This position can be based out of any of our offices in Wisconsin; hybrid work arrangements and flexible scheduling are available.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete the design calculations and plan preparation for both new bridge, bridge rehabilitation, and retaining wall projects in alignment with applicable design standards and specifications.
- Perform in person site visits and inspections of existing bridges and culverts and prepare and submit required reports.
- Complete concept development and perform bridge sizing of proposed structures.
- Complete quantity computations, cost estimates, and special provisions required for structures projects.
- Complete bridge load ratings.

Requirements- BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 4-8 years of bridge design experience including structural design of local, highway, and interchange bridges and ancillary structures
- Wisconsin PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Prior project experience with WisDOT and Wisconsin counties
- Strong knowledge of WisDOT Facilities Development Manual and BOS Bridge Manual including standards, specifications, and procedures
- Proficient in AASHTO LRFD design of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other ancillary transportation structures
- Knowledge of MicroStation/AutoCAD and specialized bridge design software?(HEC-RAS, AASHTOWare BrR, CANDE, MathCAD, Midas)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid drivers license
