Everett Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, calculating costs, and preparing accurate estimates for our custom metal fabrication and machining services.
As a Cost Estimator, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure that all costs are accounted for and estimates align with project budgets. Your ability to provide detailed, accurate estimates will be crucial in helping us maintain our reputation for delivering high-quality work at competitive prices.
This is an on-site position located in Everett, WA.
Responsibilities
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
Research and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Review and update estimates as project scope changes or additional information becomes available.
Assist project managers in evaluating bids and proposals from subcontractors.
Assist with purchasing on an as needed basis.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in cost estimating, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
Strong understanding of materials, labor, and overhead cost factors.
Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Basic knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Familiarity with cost control processes in manufacturing environments.
