General Laborer (Repair) Job Description Join our team as a General Laborer, assisting the Outside Machinist Repair Team in the disassembly and assembly of ship propulsion and auxiliary equipment. You will utilize hand tools and power tools to stage materials in designated areas, assist with overhauls, and support Journeyman Outside Machinists in maintaining and repairing mechanical components. Responsibilities Assist the Outside Machinist Repair Team. Disassemble and assemble ship propulsion and auxiliary equipment. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively. Stage materials in designated areas. Assist with mechanical component overhauls. Support Journeyman Outside Machinists in maintaining and repairing mechanical components. Essential Skills Proficiency in ship repair and marine repair. Experience using power tools and hand tools. Knowledge of mechanical components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous shipyard experience is preferred. Flexibility to work 1st and 2nd shifts. Eligibility to work at NASSCO. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
