Equipment Operator Job Description As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery, including front-end loaders, dump trucks, and skid steers. Your role involves moving materials, loading trucks, and maintaining work areas while ensuring safety procedures are followed. This position may require overtime and rotating shifts. Responsibilities Operate equipment safely and efficiently to move and load materials. Perform basic maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment. Complete safety and task training as required. Follow instructions and accurately fill out inspection reports. Understand equipment mechanics and adhere to safety regulations. Maintain quality and productivity standards. Assist coworkers and perform additional tasks as needed. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers. Familiarity with construction equipment like dozers and forklifts. Experience in equipment operation and excavation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs, sometimes with assistance. Good vision, including close, distance, color, and depth perception. Capacity to climb on equipment and sit for long periods. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buchanan, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
