You will be trusted to:

  • Assist in operation of overhead crane and forklift to load and unload steel. Drives truck as necessary to deliver steel.
  • Assist in operating steel punching machinery in fabrication process. Assist with bundling of steel for shipping to designated jobs.
  • Sort and bundle structural steel after galvanizing process.
  • Assist in stencils, punches, and drills holes in plate steel.
  • Help more experienced personnel to layout and fabricate raw steel into usable steel with cutting torch or other tools.
  • Assist in the repair of shop equipment (punch press, welding equipment, etc.).
  • Perform routine and repetitive tasks related to fabrication of transmission steel and substation assemblies.
  • Assist in operating handheld manual tools and power tools in performing repair.

You qualify with:

  • Zero or more years of experience in a steel fabrication environment using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes and punch presses or relevant experience.

You are a great fit with:

  • Knowledge of welding procedures and steel structures
  • Skill in the operation of steel punching machinery
  • Skill in crane and forklift operation
  • Skill and knowledge in heavy equipment operation and repair
  • Intermediate skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
  • Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
