Job Summary and Qualifications

The Contract Manager is responsible for the management of the Central Texas market contract department. Duties include supervising Contract Coordinators, preparing and presenting reports, maintaining current contracts, creating new contracts, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements, federal laws, and HCA policies, and generating vendor payments.

  • You will provide oversight and supervision of the Contract Coordinators and other Department staff
  • You will complete monthly rounding with employees
  • You will prepare reports documenting Department metrics and output
  • You will provide and present reports to Administrative Director of Contracting, Department Directors, and Facility executives
  • You will conduct initial Review of Project Action Workflow System (PAWS) Requests, including agreement requests for: Medical Directors Emergency Department Call Locums Tenens
  • You will initiate and Manage the Fair Market Valuation process: Work with Administrative Director of Contracting to initiate, submit, and delegate fair market analysis requests and provide feedback to Administrative Director of Contracting regarding process and outstanding requests; Work with Facility Department Directors and Executives to gather the necessary data for the valuation firm. Such data may include: payor mix, historical volume data (prior payment history, volumes, utilization), coverage and scope of services. The Contract Manager will also collaborate with contractors and leadership to address and resolve any issues that may arise during this process.
  • You will analyze historical data as needed.
  • You will, in the absence of Administrative Director of Contracting, run internal call calculators and review data in order to run accurate call calculators
  • You will assist Administrative Director of Contracting and Paralegal to set up new contractors in company systems.
  • You will record Physician-Related Reportable Incidents
  • You will submit and research contracted physician-related reportable incidents.
  • You will coordinate Annual Contract Evaluations
  • You will, with Administrative Director of Contracting, organize and provide annual and ongoing employee training and education related to contract services.
  • You will, along with Administrative Director of Contracting, support Facility and Departments with Facility Site Surveys, which may include: Compliance Process Reviews (CPR)/ Compliance Process Questionnaires (CPQ) Department Surveys Internal Finance CDA Audits Accounting Audits Joint Commission Surveys CMS Site Audits Manage the Contract Process Generate new contracts. Review all contracts for completeness. Ensure compliance with legal department requirements. Maintain and follow-up on outstanding contract issues.
  • You will serve as the point of contact between contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and assist with contract terms. You will, when appropriate, communicate with the Senior Leadership Teams regarding upcoming contract renewals, provide detailed information on contract spend, utilization, and other relevant metrics.
  • You will discuss ongoing contract services and future contract requests.
  • You will collect data and prepare reports relative to the needs of the department, Senior Leadership, Administrative Directors, and Departmental Directors in a timely manner.
  • You will meet with Facility Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Medical Officers and Chief Financial Officers to discuss ongoing contract services and future contract requests
  • You will maintain contact with contractors and legal department regarding new and existing contracts.
  • You will work closely with Administrative Director of Contracting and Division's legal counsel to address complex contract issues, contract-related inquiries, discuss revisions, and monitor approvals in company systems
  • You will manage the Payment Process
  • You will prepare and submit contractor payments in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • You will recognize appropriate documentation necessary for payment and remedy incomplete documentation.
  • You will monitor payment authorization in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • You will maintain all tracking logs used for governmental compliance, as well as for internal and external audits
What qualifications you will need:
  • Required: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred: Previous healthcare and contract experience.
