Summary Description: Land's Sake Farm is a nonprofit farm and environmental education organization located in Weston, MA. Land's Sake connects people to the land to build community and inspire lifelong stewardship; grows healthy food for sale and donation; and provides hands-on outdoor education, community focused programs and events, and open access to the outdoors. The Development Manager is part of a dynamic team dedicated to helping the Farm meet its mission and connect on multiple levels with the community, and, as such, plays a vital role in Land's Sake success. They are responsible for planning and executing fundraising campaigns, cultivating relationships with donors and sponsors, and ensuring the organization meets its fundraising targets. They also manage social media and content, working to increase public awareness of the organization's mission. The Development Manager's primary responsibilities are comprised of four main categories, as follows.Fundraising: Responsible for annual individual, corporate, and grants-related fundraising and donor engagement, with support from the Executive Director. The Development Officer will design fundraising campaigns, maintain and grow corporate support, research and solicit foundation support, and manage grant calendar applications and reporting. -Support the Executive Director in donor relations and outreach. Donor Development and Recognition: Assist in general office administration (focusing on events) including database management, and keeping a calendar of deadlines and events. Initiate, respond to and maintain donor correspondence via email, mail and phone. Assist as needed with donor administration activities in the CRM program (Little Green light) , including drafting donor reports, donor database entry, updates, invitations, thank you notes, and other materials.Communications: Create compelling social media content and manage social media channels (Facebook and Instagram). Write annual donor appeal letters, campaign fundraising messaging, and mission-related e-newsletter content in Constant Contact, with the support of an in-house graphic designer. Act as liaison with local press outlets. Manage Google Ads for nonprofits grant.Events: Help coordinate fundraising events focusing on administration, sponsorship and marketing (two large fundraising events annually plus other smaller ticketed and free events throughout the year). Includes event promotion, invitations, ticket sales, registration, guest communications, donation pledge management and collections. Key Skills and Qualifications: Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies, analyze data, and adapt to changing circumstances. Organizational and Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines. Required experience and skills: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of nonprofit development experience, including donor solicitation and cultivation, communications, and grant writing Excellent writing and editing skills Excellent in-person communication skills Event planning experience preferred Self-directed, organized, and a creative problem solver Ability to meet deadlines Proven track record of success CRM database and email marketing software is preferred An appreciation and understanding of nonprofits. Knowledge of Land's Sake mission and connections in the local community are a plus. Work environment and benefits Monday to Friday with some night and weekend work required 30-40 hours per week. The position includes local travel, some evenings and weekend events.
