Acara Solutions is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client located in Arcade, NY $120k-$150k based on experience Direct Placement Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (some flexibility) Comprehensive benefits package including profit sharing Start ASAP Position Summary We are seeking a highly qualified, driven, energetic, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to take responsibility for the design solutions that meet our customers' needs. The successful candidate for this position will be able to take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, including specification, design, documentation, testing, and presenting proposals to managers and clients. This is a mechanical engineering position primarily and inherently includes continuous engineering support of all existing products including BOM Creation, Drawing Creation, Documentation Release, Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction and Innovation. The successful candidate should have knowledge of machine design & mechanical power transmission. Experience with design of weldments and heavy structural design ideal. Must be able to perform and document mechanical calculations, finite element analysis, etc. Under the general direction of the Manager, Engineering, perform all required engineering tasks. Ensure the use of proper engineering design principles and contribute to reliable and cost effective product. The assignments have general objectives and include contact with the customer. Directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of all products and systems. Required Skills / Qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent plus 8+years of experience as a mechanical engineer including the design & construction of large electromechanical equipment. 8+ years of experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks 8+ years of experience in the custom automation industry Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in either mechanical design, mechanical drafting, or mechanical engineering. 5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer Fundamentals of mechanical engineering principles. Principles of low cost design and ease of manufacture and assembly. Basic analysis of designs, components and subsystems for fit and finish for use, through the proper application of technical theory. Use appropriate design techniques. Materials properties to identify/select parts tolerance, finish and fitness for use. Understand pertinent electrical and/or mechanical design and drafting standards, and drafting practices as applicable. Understand pertinent US and European Standards and Codes, as applicable. Understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical schematics or diagrams as needed. Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices.
