Position: Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor to lead and coordinate maintenance operations in a highly automated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and reviewing maintenance activities, supervising a skilled team, and ensuring optimal equipment performance through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement new equipment technologies and process improvements, including equipment upgrades, tooling, and manufacturing techniques.
- Plan, supervise, and oversee installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment and processes.
- Coordinate product and process design changes in collaboration with internal teams.
- Partner with management, production, and other stakeholders to align on project specifications and procedures.
- Assess technology, resource needs, and market demands to evaluate project feasibility.
- Manage administrative functions such as report preparation, compliance enforcement, and procurement decisions.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and technical services per company protocols.
- Assist in implementing a systematic preventive maintenance program.
- Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance plans using automated software.
- Monitor parts inventory to ensure availability, cost efficiency, and budget compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide progress updates to management.
- Ensure optimal equipment and process performance at all times.
- Provide technical support to production teams as needed.
- Select and manage contractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, timely project completion.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Promote team motivation, collaboration, and a strong safety culture.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and robotics systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
- Experience with industrial PCs, PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat), and electrical control systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with ABB robots preferred.
- Background in highly automated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Fabrication experience a plus.
