Job Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, design, budgeting, and execution of capital projects within the engineering department. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and under budget while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This position supports the development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective project solutions
Job Responsibilities
Assist in managing and executing multiple capital projects throughout the facility
Help develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and technical documentation
Learn to navigate and ensure compliance with USDA, SQF, and other industry regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to keep projects on track
Monitor project milestones and support tracking performance and resource use
Support site safety and quality standards while helping oversee contractor work
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce costs
Build communication skills through reporting and presenting project updates to leadership
Perform other related duties as directed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated experience managing contractors and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Experience
At least 1 year of experience, which may include internships, co-ops, or early professional roles

Office
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of injury in an office environment. Duties include a typical office setting including extensive computer work, sitting or standing.
