The Senior Project Manager – HVAC will provide leadership and oversight for large-scale mechanical projects, with a focus on complex HVAC system delivery. This position requires a seasoned professional with 10+ years of project management experience in major construction projects, preferably within the aviation and healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar projects, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management:
- Lead the planning and implementation of HVAC projects
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and control.
- Work with owners and end users
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including BIM/VDC, Mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Assign tasks and manage the performance of team members.
- Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any project-related issues or disputes.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all HVAC installations and systems meet the highest quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee the commissioning and handover process to clients.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Present regular project updates to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Ensure all project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Required Skills, Education, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or related field, desired
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years progressive project management experience in HVAC/mechanical contracting.
- Strong portfolio of successfully delivered major projects ($20M+) in aviation and/or healthcare sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems design, installation, and commissioning.
- Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and client relationship management.
- Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and financial reporting.
- OSHA certification and PMP preferred.

Work Environment
- The role will require a blend of office-based work and on-site project oversight.
- Office work includes project planning, reporting, and coordination with design and operations teams.
- On-site responsibilities include site walks, safety inspections, coordination with field teams, and client meetings.
- The work environment may involve exposure to construction activities, mechanical systems, and active job sites.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel to project sites is required, including aviation facilities, healthcare campuses, and other major construction sites.
- Regional travel may be up to 30–40%, depending on project assignments and client needs.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
