Under direction of senior personnel, the successful candidate will provide Electro-mechanical engineering research and design requirements support for the creation and maintenance of project tooling in support of the Cable Shop at the Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic (SWFLANT), Kings Bay, Georgia. This position ultimately supports the Trident II D5(LE) missile and missile subassemblies inside of restricted access areas. Primary responsibilities will include interfacing with the Factory Management Team (FMT) and working alongside Cable fabricators and engineers both on and off-site to ensure the successful deployment of Cable form boards, Crimpers, Pull testers, Laser Etchers, and other miscellaneous tools and equipment. The successful candidate will also work alongside Cable Certified Principal Engineers, our Navy customer, various LM organizations, and appropriate contractors to review and resolve non-conforming or anomalous cable hardware in support of Material Review boards and Failure review boards.
Must be able to lead engineering evaluations for new design changes, documentation, equipment, processes, or capabilities as required and document technical investigations in reports and provide status to management. In order to fulfill this position, the individual must be able to obtain Material Review Board (MRB) certification within 2 years. Must be willing to work around ordnance, shift work, and overtime as required.Basic Qualifications :
Obtained a bachelors degree from an accredited college in Electrical, Mechanical, electromechanical or equivalent/similar engineering related discipline.
Manufacturing design experience
CAD, CREO, and/or ZUKEN experience
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Security clearance. Interim Secret clearance required prior to start.
Ability and willingness to work around ordnance
Ability and willingness to work shiftwork & overtime
Word, Powerpoint, & Excel computer skills
Effective written & verbal communication skills
US Citizen, no dual citizenshipDesired skills :
Basic Knowledge of analysis methods and computer analysis programs
Circuit design, component layout, board layout and schematics
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel if needed
