Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead and support a team involved in the design and development of mechanical systems for building and site infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform site investigations, prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated design packages for government and industrial buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for building and site infrastructure.
  • Perform site investigations and prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design packages.
  • Conduct constructability reviews of drawings.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors.
  • Provide construction administration services and meaningful feedback on calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Essential Skills
  • 8 - 12 years of HVAC-Plumbing experience.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California.
  • Experience with public projects and military projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical, architectural, and MEP design.
  • Experience in industrial, government, laboratory, hospital, data center, and computer room design.
  • Experience in education facility design and business development skills.
Work Environment

The work environment includes a cubical office setting located on the Sacramento River. A hybrid or remote work arrangement is possible after 90 days for those who demonstrate the ability to get the work done effectively. The company is engaged in a variety of new and technically complex projects, specializing in government and military facilities, which require precision engineering and coordination across multiple disciplines to meet stringent standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $56.00/hr.
