Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you will focus on cost reduction projects for legacy products, collaborating closely with suppliers and the internal design team to implement design changes. You will also assist in troubleshooting product and integration issues, requiring excellent communication skills for cross-functional work with production and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems into products using catalogue components and innovative design solutions to deliver best-in-class products.
• Research and evaluate new technology in electric motors and drives to improve product cost, performance, and features.
• Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability, quality, cost, and sustainability.
• Create wiring schematics, electrical harnesses, related mechanical components, and bills of material.
• Design, size, and integrate a starting device system in a multiple motor application.
• Size and integrate variable speed drives based on application, current, and dimensional requirements.
• Size and integrate overload and short circuit current protection based on current, NEC, CE, NEC, and UL requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1-3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
• Experience completing design reviews for cost reduction projects, including obsolescence management and bill of materials
• Experience with electric motor controls, transformers, or drives
• Experience in hardware design, cost reduction, cost analysis, troubleshooting, design review, risk assessment, and schematic design

• Experience designing within NX
• Experience conducting risk assessments

You will work within a team of 10+ engineers, collaborating cross-functionally with production, quality, and suppliers. The engineering team is based at the Michigan City facility, which has recently undergone office upgrades.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Michigan City, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
